✨There's something magical about Christmas ceramics. Maybe it's the way they glow on the mantle nestled in greenery and shiny glass bulbs. Maybe it's the nostalgia of those old ceramic trees our parents and grandparents displayed each year. Or maybe it's simply the joy of painting during the holidays while listening to Christmas music and sipping on hot cocoa (or wine😉).
If you're ready to add a little sparkle to your home this season, here are some of my most popular holiday ceramics to paint and some tips to make them shine.
Light-up Christmas Tree
There's no ceramic more iconic! These will light up the room instantly and are surprisingly easy to paint.

Trees are so fun to customize! From traditional to ombre to rainbow, the styles are endless. This tree base was painted black first and then a coat of copper to shine. Vintage Truck and Tree
This one is one of my most popular. It's the perfect blend of rustic and adorable.

To create a rustic effect like this, start with a coat of black, and then dry brush your favorite colors. Christmas Cactus
Nothing says "Southwest charm" like a cactus with holiday lights! This is a playful alternative to traditional trees, adding a pop of unexpected fun.

Use a dark green all over, and then highlight the raised parts with light green to add dimension. Snowman
Sweet, cheery, and full of personality, these little guys are perfect for any age.

Add some crystal glitter paint to make his snow sparkle. Holiday Gnome
Cute and quirky, these fun characters are easy to decorate and nearly impossible to mess up.

Lightly brushing the branch tips gives a snow-frosted effect. 👍🏻Best tip for all ceramics:
After paints are completely dry, add a generous coat of clear sealant. My favorite is Triple Thick by DecoArt. It helps protect your painted ceramic and adds amazing dimension and depth, almost like glass!

Whichever design you choose, painting your own ceramics makes joyful memories, adds a fun touch to your home, and they are AMAZING gifts too!
